Ferrophosphorus is an alloy of iron and phosphorus. It is used to improve the physical and/or chemical properties of structural steels, cast irons, and various ferroalloys.
Fe2P, also known as iron phosphide, contains approximately 22 percent phosphorus. Externally, it appears as pieces of alloy with a metallic luster, without pronounced slag inclusions, sand, or other impurities at fracture.
